American English Classes and Accent Training, Online with Your Own Coach

Sound clear to American clients, managers and customers, without sounding put on.

WizMantra teaches American English one learner at a time. You get the same coach every weekday for 30 minutes, you speak for most of the class, and every correction is about your sounds, not a textbook's. It is built for Indian professionals whose English is already good but still gets the occasional "sorry, come again?" on a US call.

What an American English class at WizMantra actually is

It is accent and speaking training, not grammar revision. Your coach finds the handful of sounds and habits that make Americans mishear you, fixes them in order of how much they cost you, and then makes you use the new sounds in the kind of talking your job involves.

Most learners do not need a new vocabulary. They need the R in "work" to stop disappearing, "thirty" to stop sounding like "thirteen", and long work words like "deliverable" to land with the stress where an American expects it. Those are small, physical habits. They change with daily practice and someone listening closely, which is why the classes are live and never in a batch.

The format in one line: 20 live 1-on-1 classes a month, 30 minutes each weekday, any slot from 8 AM to 10 PM IST. General American is the default. British is available if your goal needs it.

Who takes these classes

BPO and call centre agents

US customers judge you in the first ten seconds. Clear V and W, firm word endings and a friendly rise in tone do most of the work.

IT and tech teams on US projects

Standups, demos and client escalations, where one misheard number or name costs a follow-up email.

People moving to the USA

Campus, interviews, the pharmacy counter, the phone call to the landlord. Everyday American, not just office American.

Founders, freelancers and sales

Pitching to American buyers is easier when nobody is working hard to follow you.

The six sounds American ears notice first

If you fix only these, most listeners stop noticing your accent and start hearing what you say. Each one has a full lesson on the American accent training page.

The American R

Said fully after vowels, never dropped and never rolled.

work, car, doctor, here

The flapped T

Between vowels a T turns into a quick, soft tap.

water, better, meeting, got it

The two TH sounds

Tongue between the teeth, not a T or a D.

three, think, this, other

V and W

Top teeth on the lip for V, rounded lips for W.

very well, vine and wine

Stress and the schwa

One strong syllable, the rest shrink to a quick "uh".

about, banana, deLIVerable

Intonation

The rise and fall that keeps you from sounding flat or rushed.

questions, lists, the key word

Office phrases that quietly confuse Americans

Accent is half the job. The other half is the Indian office English that sounds normal at home and odd in New York. Your coach catches these in your own sentences.

The 12 week path

Twelve weeks is the plan most learners follow: four weeks on sounds, four on flow and conventions, four on real work conversations. Your coach speeds it up or slows it down after hearing you in the demo.

1

Month 1: the American sound

Vowels and the R, the flapped and dropped T, word stress and the schwa, and the US word choices that replace Indian office phrases.

2

Month 2: flow

Linking words together, reductions like "gonna" and "wanna", sentence rhythm and intonation, plus written US conventions for email and chat.

3

Month 3: real work

Role plays built from your job: client calls, standups, interviews and small talk, run under a bit of pressure until the new sounds hold.

Questions people ask

Can an Indian speaker really learn an American accent as an adult?
Yes, enough to be easily understood and to sound natural on calls. Accent is a set of mouth and listening habits, and habits change with daily practice and feedback. The biggest early gains usually come from three fixes: the R, the T and word stress.
How long does American accent training take?
The standard path is 12 weeks of 30 minute classes on weekdays. Some learners only need the first month of sound work, while people on daily client calls usually do all three months. Your coach suggests a length after the demo class accent check.
Are the classes in a group or 1-on-1?
Always 1-on-1 and live, with the same coach each day. There are no batches and no recorded lessons. In a 30 minute class you speak for most of the time, and your coach corrects each sound while you are still saying it.
How much do American English classes cost?
The demo class is ₹299 and includes an accent check. After that, one month of 20 live 1-on-1 classes is ₹13,000, or ₹25,000 for two months. Classes run Monday to Friday, 30 minutes a day, in any slot between 8 AM and 10 PM IST.
Should I learn an American or a neutral accent?
If you work with US clients, US customers or plan to move to the USA, learn American. If you deal with people from many countries, a neutral accent is the safer goal. Both start with the same sound fixes, and the accent neutralization page explains the difference.
Can I check my accent for free first?
Yes. The free American accent test takes about four minutes, needs no sign up and shows which sound groups you mix up, ranked by how much they affect being understood.
